Just Henry Starring role for the Plaza
With a crescendo from the Compton Organ and a dazzling glow of neon and chaser lights, Stockports 1932 art deco Super Cinema and Variety Theatre appeared in her latest role in ITV's adaptation of 'Just Henry'
The televison drama set in post World War II Britain followed Henry who believes his father was killed in the war only to discover that he is actually alive, turns up out of the blue and turns Henry's life upside down.
The Plaza shone in her restored and sumptuous condition as the action unfolded in what was a gripping peice of period drama set in the fictional location of The Plaza Cinema in Sternsea.
The Plaza is no stranger to appearing in a starring role on the small and big screen and most recently was featured as a variety of theatres and a Liptons Tea Room in the Christmas block buster 'The Morecombe and Wise Story' screened at Christmas 2010, Songs of Praise which filmed a special about the life and faith of J.Arthur Rank and as a gangsters lair in the cult classic 'Life on Mars' whilst you will regularly find parts of this gem of a building featuring in numerous rock and pop videos, photo shoots and was featured as one of the 'loved' locations for local BBC Radio ads.

Just Henry can currently be seen on ITV i-player however if you miss that once it is removed the DVD is being brought out at the beginning of 2012 to give you a chance to see the Plaza in her latest starring role.
