As the Plaza heads into her 80th Year of birthday celebrations how better to celebrate than to have succesfully been shortlisted for the prestigious Civic Trust Awards 2012.

Our inclusion in the selection was submitted by our Architects Brock Carmichael Architects whose expert skills under the guidance of Vice Chairman and Technical Director of the Plaza Mr Gary Trinder of our restoration project in 2009, brought this jewel in the artistic cinematic crown of the North West a giant step forward in our final aims of complete restoration in all areas of this magnificent building.

Eastablished in 1959, The Civic Trust awards recognise the very best in architecture, design, planning, landscape and public art.

Awards are given to projects of the highest quality design but only if they are judged to have made a positive cultural, social or economic contribution to the local community.

The award ceremony on the 2nd March will see the Plaza competing alongside a host of other deserving projects all of whom uphold the aims and objectives of the award panels strict criteria for an award that would be a cherished addition to the ongoing success of our venue which is such an important part of our local and regional community.
