Plaza Youth get First Class donation during show
Our acclaimed resident youth theatre company consisting of Plaza Youth for the over 13's, Plaza Juniors for children aged between 8 and 13 and the Plaza Peas for the under 8's hosted one of the their regular 'Carry On' shows featuring a showcase of the amazing talent of our wonderful young performers who are inspired and enriched by performance arts.

Carry on 5 featured song and dance from shows including Seussical the Musical, Wicked, Back to the 80's and many more whilst our great freinds at the talented Vale School of Dance joined us to show why they are held in such high regard as a dance school worthy of being the annual performers in our family pantomime over the Christmas period.

Plaza Youth are dedicated to working in our local community and one of their dreams has been to perform in events and showcases at open days, events and in local schools, care homes etc but to do this they needed the equipment consisting of mobile staging that could be used off site, whilst also being of use during shows in their home at the Plaza.
To raise funds is always difficult but luckily for the Plaza one of our esteemed volunteers Andrew Moran was aware of a community fund supported by the First Bus Company where he works as a driver and decided that he would submit an application.
The First Bus Charity and Sponsorship fund is committed to making a real difference to the communities in which they operate by supporting a wide range of charitable causes and community organisations therefore Andrew submitted his application to raise £1000 towards the staging which would enable the dream of our young people to come true, the application was successful and when better to present the cheque than during a show case of Plaza Youth's talent live at the Plaza.
As the final number of the first half drew to a close and the audience were in raptuors of applause, Ted Doan the General Manager of the Plaza stepped onto the stage and after thanking the talents of the professionals who had put on such a great show including Chris, Lizzie, David and Jane White who are the inspiration behind the Youth Theatre he welcomed onto the stage the loveable First Bus mascot 'Buster the Bear'.

Joining Buster on Stage were Andrew Moran who had raised the application for Sponsorship and Carmel Collins from First Buses who represented the Charity Comittee and had been an integral part of the decision making process to award the sponsorship of £1000.

As the members of Plaza Youth listened in excitement by the side of the stage or in their dressing rooms behind the scenes, Carmel announced that Plaza Youth had been awarded the magnificent sum of £1000 to the applause of our capacity stalls audience.

We send a heartfelt thank you to the First Bus Regional Charity and Sponsorship Committee for their support which will help continue the great works of our magnificent young people as they work within their community for generations to come.
