With members from the UK, Europe, Canada, America and Australasia the Friends of the Plaza is a truly international organisation that has an interest in saving and preserving Stockport's 1932 Super Cinema and Variety Theatre for future generations to enjoy.

Originally founded along side our core of dedicated volunteers to save the Plaza in 2000 the friends support the Plaza with regular fund raising events, social evenings and are an integral part in the success of Stockport's premier entertainment venue with regular financial contribution from the membership fee's for specified projects to aid and enhance the comfort of our patrons coming to the Plaza

Become a Volunteer

Many of our friends find the time to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers who run the Plaza from working in the box office, to serving on the bar, assisting Front of House to working on the Stage or in our projection room. All of our volunteers are committed to ensuring that we give a professional standard of service with a warmth and friendliness that has become our by word in customer care.
